Guilin Tea Science and Research Institute is the key institute of Guangxi. It was founded in 1965, the area of the whole plantation contains about 40 hectares, and it owns 250 different tea plants.
It was the royal tea garden in Ming Dynasty 400 years ago. The soil is fertile and rich in trace element. The tea had been paid to imperial court as tribute with its top quality and health protecting effect for a very long time in the history of China.
The institute keeps over 300 kinds of tea seed genes for 5 provinces of southwestern China. And it is the first organic tea garden in Guangxi. Most of the tea productions here are made with traditional hand-manufacture; they are natural health tea drinks, and very popular at home and abroad.
